For the first time in UNF Volleyball DI history, the Ospreys broke the top 50 in the NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball RPI Rankings. North Florida is ranked No. 49 in the NCAA RPI, the 10th highest ranking for a non-Power Five team in the RPI rankings. The Ospreys have the highest ranking for an ASUN team.
Rocio Moro is elite at libero, and so are her numbers. Her 1,337 digs is good for sixth all-time in UNF history and third in UNF DI history. Last weekend she surpassed UNF Hall of Famer, Paige Pridgeon. Moro is only nine digs shy of Cari Whitmire's 1,346 digs, despite having played 101 fewer sets. Nicole Baran is the all-time record holder with 1,929 in 475 sets.
Gabby O'Connell picked up another double-double last weekend, notching an 11-kill and 16-dig performance to earn her first such performance of the year and 40th as an Osprey.
Numbers don't lie, and they certainly are validating UNF's 15-2 record this season. The Ospreys rank atop the ASUN in the following categories as a team:
-Winning % (.882, 10th in DI)
-Total Blocks (142, 41st in DI)
-Assists/Set (12.15, 72nd in DI)

THE OSPREY CURTAIN
UNF has been racking up the ASUN Defensive Player of the Week awards this season. So much so that the Ospreys set a conference record for the most ASUN Defensive Player of the Week awards earned in consecutive weeks, winning all four thus far in 2021.
The previous record was three, shared by FGCU and ETSU.
ASUN Defensive Player of the Week Awards:
-Bre Walp (Aug. 30, 2021)
-Rocio Moro (Sept. 7, 2021)
-Rocio Moro (Sept. 13, 2021)

Moro also made history for the ASUN after claiming two more ASUN Defensive Player of the Week awards during this fall season. The San Juan, P.R., native is the first player in conference history to earn six ASUN Defensive Player of the Week honors.
If you combine her ASUN Freshman of the Week honors, Moro has tallied 10 weekly awards to go with her Spring 2021 ASUN Defensive Player of the Year honor and Fall 2021 ASUN Preseason Defensive Player of the Year award.
Moro was recognized as a Volleyballmag.com All-Freshman Team Honorable Mention in December of 2019. She's also picked up Spring 2021 ASUN First Team honors and 2019 ASUN All-Freshman squad laurels. The libero is the UNF all-time record holder for career digs/set (5.01).
Walp's numbers are eye-popping this year as she leads a slew of strong blockers. The middle blocker has 86 blocks, good for the lead league and third in the country. Consistency has been paramount for her as she has put up at least two blocks in every match, while recording five matches with seven blocks or more.
